- 60-minute session or Clinical Intake – $150

Anthem Blue Cross / UC SHIP
I am an in-network provider for Anthem Blue Cross health insurance plans. This includes the UC SHIP plan for UC Davis students among several other plans. I am out-of-network for all other plans. Please remember, use of insurance is limited to mental health treatment when “medical necessity” is present. When the focus of sessions is more on relationship issues that are not directly impacted by mental health concerns, then insurance will not cover such sessions. In that case, fees must be paid out of pocket (see below).
Do you have another health plan (besides the above) that includes out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health? If so, I would be glad to provide you with a statement (called a superbill) for possible reimbursement. To explore this option, contact your insurance provider and ask if they cover out-of-network therapy services and at what percentage/amount. I can walk you through the rest of the process.
Insurance vs Private Pay
When using insurance (including out-of-network) for therapy, I must share your diagnosis and other personal details with the insurance company. Additionally, insurance may audit your chart to determine “medical necessity” and deny coverage if they deem the services unnecessary or employ a treatment method they do not recognize.
Please speak to me ahead of time if you have any questions or concerns about using your insurance. If you have privacy concerns, you may elect to pay me privately and waive use of your insurance. I’m happy to help you sort through your options.
Affordable Options at Lower Fees
I strive to find ways to make my services accessible while still having a shirt on my back. If the above rates seem like a stretch for your budget, consider the following affordable options:
- Group sessions (approximately 50% the cost of individual sessions – or less – for much more time)
- Short-sessions (25-minutes) if appropriate
- Referral to another provider with lower therapy rates or who accepts your insurance plan or offers a sliding scale.
Keep in mind, if you come for family/polycule sessions, the cost can be spread out and you’ll all benefit from the process!

Give An Hour for Military Families
If you serve or have served our military in any capacity, thank you for your service and sacrifice. I proudly support our military service members, veterans, and our families with their mental health needs.
As a provider for the Give An Hour program, I offer FREE weekly therapy for military service members, veterans, and their families. Eligibility is not tied to discharge status nor do you have to use your insurance (even if you have it). Additionally, I maintain strict confidentiality and do not report back to the military system, chain of command, TRICARE, nor anyone else that you do not explicitly authorize. I focus on you and your needs exclusively. No Red Tape!
I keep open at least one slot per week for this program. Please contact me for current availability and additional details.
Consistency of sessions is an important factor for effective work together. Additionally, I reserve your appointment time just for you and do not double book appointments. Accordingly, I do charge for late cancellations and missed appointments (with limited exceptions). Please plan ahead and prioritize your appointments once scheduled.
I require at least 24-hour advanced notice to cancel to avoid missed appointment charges. As soon as you know you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know so that I have time to offer this appointment to someone else who needs help.
I will send all required forms through a secure online portal for you to complete after our initial consultation. Please complete these 24 hours prior to your appointment. This allows me time to review the document prior to your arrival and prepare accordingly.
